ST JOSEPH’S 200 CLUB

We have a separate Bank Account for our 200 Club – which is called the “St Joseph’s Development Account”. The purpose of the 200 Club is to help to provide money for major Repairs and Maintenance.

The Church, Parish Centre and Priest’s house are now over 40 years old and consequently Repairs and Maintenance costs are ever increasing and inevitably there are going to be further major items of repair and maintenance that will crop up.

Over the last 4 years we have spent around £10,000 on major items.

In 2016 we spent over £6,000 – as you may remember, we had an Inspection by the Fire Brigade and this brought to light a number of items – expensive items – that were essential. In additions, we had to carry out some expensive works on the Electrics and Plumbing.

The 200 Club is a way of benefitting both the Parish – and Parishioners. For as little as £1 per week you would have a one in seventy chance of winning £40 – much better odds than the National Lottery!

Half of the money raised is given out as a Weekly Prize of £40 – the other half goes to the Parish to help to pay for maintenance and repairs.

We currently have around 70 members of the 200 Club but would like to increase that number.

If you would like to join the 200 Club please complete a form with your personal details and state how you wish to pay your subscriptions. The subscriptions are £48 per year or £4 per month. The Weekly Prize is currently £40. If we can increase the number of members it will be possible to increase the weekly Prize – or perhaps to introduce a weekly Second Place Prize.

To make the administration of the 200 Club much simpler it would be very helpful if you can make your subscriptions by an Annual or Monthly Banker’s Standing Order – or you can make them by Cheque

Membership forms and Standing Order forms are available in the porch or via the 200 Club page.

If you wish to know more about the 200 Club please get in touch with me:- 01606 558547 or by email anthony_montgomery@sky.com
