Parish Christmas Afternoon
Monday 10th December 1.30pm to 3.30pm
We would like to invite parishioners to join us for an Afternoon Tea Christmas Celebration here at St Nicholas Catholic High School. The afternoon will include refreshments and entertainment. We may be able to provide some transport if needed. In the first instance we can offer twelve spaces per parish. Please let Fr Simon know if you wish to attend so that they have an idea of the numbers. Tickets and further details shortly.
Children’s Christmas Party
Sunday 16th December after 11am Mass.
Shared table, games and a special guest. We would like parents to stay around to help with their own children. Should finish about 14:00.
Coffee morning
Tuesday 22nd January 2019 at 10:30am.
Come along and join in the fun, everyone is welcome.
Food Bank
With Christmas approaching the need for food is even greater. It would be marvellous if each person brought in one item each week during the run-up to Christmas. Please help those in need of food so that they too can enjoy the Festive Season. Urgently needed items: jam, cereal, tinned meat and long-life fruit juice.
Memorial Plaques
As you will know, there are plaques on the back of the chairs in church to remember friends and relatives who have died. As the chairs are now all taken up – we have obtained a Memorial Board which will erected in the church. If you would like to have a plaque placed on the board please can you write the name of the deceased person/people on a note and hand it to Fr Simon.
We would ask for a donation of £5 towards the cost of having the plaque engraved.
Bingo Night
Last week’s Event raised a magnificent total of £1,023. This will go towards the costs of the Pensioners Dinner & Children’s Party – and electrical work that we are having done. Many, many thanks to those who helped to organise the event.
Pat McQuillan and Ann Hayes would also like to thank everyone who helped them make the Bingo Night such a success, those who donated prizes, bought raffle tickets (sorry if you didn’t win) and especially to those who supported the Bingo on the night.
There are 2 unclaimed raffle tickets, yellow ticket 976-980 and yellow ticket 471-475.
Salt for the Winter
A supply of salt is available in the outer porch. Please use this to make safe the steps in front of the church entrance doors during icy weather.
