Food Bank
With Christmas approaching the need for food is even greater. It would be marvellous if each person brought in one item each week during Advent. Please help those in need of food so that they too can enjoy the Festive Season. Urgently needed items: jam, cereal, tinned meat and long-life fruit juice.
Prisoner Outreach
Do you – like me – find carrying round small coins a waste of time? The Prisoner Outreach Organisation is a Christian network of volunteers who have been voluntarily working in HM Prisons and supplies copies of the BIBLE ALIVE booklets to prisoners.
Drop your loose change into the bottle on the bookshelves in the porch and help to support this organisation.
Little Church
We are looking for more volunteers to help with the Little Church at 11am. If anyone is interested in helping, please speak with Elaine after the 11am Mass. Elaine will continue to help with the Little Church, you would not be expected to do the Little Church every week.
Memorial Plaques
As you will know, there are plaques on the back of the chairs in church to remember friends and relatives who have died. As the chairs are now all taken up – we have obtained a Memorial Board which will erected in the church. If you would like to have a plaque placed on the board please can you write the name of the deceased person/people on a note and hand it to Fr Simon.
We would ask for a donation of £5 towards the cost of having the plaque engraved.
Church Choir
If you like to sing, or can play any instrument, we are always looking for new talent. We practise every Wednesdays at 7.15pm in the church – all comers welcome! The only expectation is that you would join us regularly for this practice session. This week the practise is after the 7pm Mass.
School Vacancy
St Joseph’s school have two Midday Assistants vacancies. Please see the notice board for more details on the job description or go to the website http://www.stjosephs.cheshire.sch.uk/.
