Sunday Aug 6th at 3.30pm – Hurling Semi-Final
The All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final between Galway and Tipperary will be played in Croke Park on Sunday Aug 6th at 3.30pm. Parishioners who want to watch the match and hopefully cheer on the Gallant Galway team can watch it in the Old Star. Galway lost narrowly by a point to Tipp in the semi-final last year, and Tipp went on to beat Fr Jim McGrath’s team Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Final, so neutrals would agree – it’s Galway’s turn this year!
SPA – THE SOCIETY OF ST PETER THE APOSTLE
The Society is an organisation that provides training for Priests in Mission countries. We have not had a collection for them since August last year.
So next weekend we will be having a retiring collection to support their work. Please be as generous as you can.
MUSIC GROUP
We are asking for new choir members for the 11am Mass. The only thing we ask is that you come to practise every Wednesday at 7.00pm where they learn new music.
LITTLE CHURCH
We are looking for someone who would like to volunteer to help run the 11 o’clock Little Church. They can speak to Elaine at the end of the 11am Mass.
CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY -CARITAS
We will be collecting the Catholic Children’s Society boxes, now known as Caritas, this weekend and on the next weekend. Please bring along your Box for emptying.
GRAND RAFFLE
As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations in September we are having a Raffle. Tickets are available in the porch. Please take home some tickets and buy/sell as many as you can. Some fantastic Prizes will be on offer. See the poster in the porch for details.
